The Sun Shines Full of Love

Note: This is a poem a based off a dream I had, it's similar to a Greek Myth almost.

The sun is always there, even in the winter it will shine
It is an object of Hope, A beautiful sign
The sun comes in March to replace the bitter cold
It gives you another chance to get life ahold

But more importantly the sun is a representation
It is like a thirsty man getting his hydration
When the Sun comes anew
It pumps the blood in me, in you

It turns men’s hearts to gold
It probes love a hundred fold
That’s what the sun represents
It is Love, a feeling worth more than a few cents

Those hippies said right to call it the Summer of Love
It brings on hope like a pure, white dove

There where two lovers on a hill
They were taking in the valley until
The sun broke through the clouds of grey
It spoke saying that as long as it shone that their love would stay

Whenever the sun shone their relationship bloomed
But when winter came they were doomed
The sun’s curse kept them from each other
It was like a over protective mother

Eventually the girl could not take it
She couldn’t let her love split
So she went on her knees to the sun
She pleaded for the curse to be undone

But the Sun refused
So she asked if there was another way this curse could be used
She asked if their bodies may be thrown into the sun
But that their souls would stay and become one

The sun complied
And the two became more than husband and bride
The souls lived in unison for all of their days
And with that their true passion and love was set ablaze

And when winter came they were not afraid
They were together, they were able to look into each other’s eyes of jade
But when summer came they rejoiced all the more
For the sun is a representation of love coming to restore
