Buoys methodically rise and fall to the commands of the moon
The dock creaks under the low strain of the vessels fixed to it
Undefined lights flicker far from my vision’s forefront
They rise and fall like the tides
Cobalt green waters progress up the shore
Unclenching the elements found days before
Slow music plays intended for a stranger
Unknowingly meant for me
The few distorted stars declare magnificence
They rise and fall like the tides
A westbound wind causes the yachts to teeter
Something else though makes me linger
The methodic tides persist
Eliciting conviction within me
They make me question
Do I rise and fall like the tides?
